There is a new public attraction at Buffalo Bayou Park—as well as a corresponding public art work—and all of Houston is abuzz!

Down Periscope, New York artist Donald Lipski’s latest installation (found directly above the Buffalo Bayou Park Cistern), allows park visitors to not only look into the Cistern but also hear the sounds that reverberate off the walls and 25-foot tall, slender concrete columns. It literally allows you to view the underground. Artists and organizations make note: The park plans to house temporary installations within the Cistern so stay tuned in at buffalobayou.org!

Take control of Down Periscope yourself at the park, or go online at www.downperiscopehouston.com, for a peak into Houston’s modern archeological find.

For more information on the Buffalo Bayou Park Cistern, or to reserve a tour through the space, visit buffalobayou.org.
